The Palliative Care Center at Sundale
In January of 2009, Sundale obtained a Certificate of Need for 15 palliative care rooms. The new two-story specialty wing (9,792 s.f.) will be connected to the western side of the existing Sundale building.

Fifteen private rooms feature large windows that provide patients with views of the grounds and wooded areas surrounding the 38-acre campus. Patients, visitors and family members will have use of a kitchen and lounge area on each floor. There will be private counseling rooms on each floor, a non-denominational chapel, and a private courtyard as well. The goal is to create a specialized environment where quality end-of-life care can be provided to those citizens of Monongalia and surrounding counties who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, without regard to race, religion or economic status.
