Food service and dining cater to your nutritional needs and food preferences. Our menus are planned with consideration of food habits, cultural backgrounds and the nutrient needs of each person. We feel that proper nutrition is essential to your well-being, and paired with a pleasant atmosphere, such as our beautiful dining room, we give you an enjoyable dining experience. We want you to enjoy each and every delicious meal, so our Registered Dietician reviews your diet plan and takes into consideration your personal preferences. You will find a variety of dishes that will not only meet your therapeutic diet, but please your appetite as well.
Sundale's Dietary Department is under the direction of a full-time Certified Dietary Manager and the Dietician Consulting Firm of Keagan and Associates. The dietary staff of 14 prepare and provide well-balanced meals and snacks from planned and written menus developed by the Registered Dietician. Therapeutic and mechanically altered diets are available to meet the nutritional needs of those residents that may need special attention. Food and beverage preferences of residents are obtained upon admission and updated periodically. Two times per month, the Resident Council plan their choice of meals for the month, and have input on new menu ideas. Adequate substitutions are offered and provided to the residents that have dislikes. A spacious, newly remodeled dining room is available for all residents who wish to socialize during their meals with the company of other residents.
We accommodate family members that may wish to enjoy lunch or supper meals with their loved ones. Please notify the Business Office when you plan to have a meal. There is a charge of $2.50 per meal.
Food from home must be checked in with the charge nurse before given to the resident to determine compatibility with the Resident’s diet/medication regimen. Please do not leave perishable items or amounts that cannot be readily consumed with residents. Snack food must be stored in sealed plastic containers and dated.
